Sweets table

Sweets table at Atzaro.

It is a stunning place with lush gardens and plenty of space to chill out or party. I have the opportunity to visit this place frequently delivering my hand made wedding cakes.   Last night I was delighted to deliver and set up something a little different, a  sweet table for a wedding with  150 guests who had all flown in from Madrid.
It was delightful to work on designing and creating this table.  I was given free rein to create a table my only specifications were: add some lollipops and use some lilac and white as these were the colours of the day.
The table was created totally in those 2 colours with a splash of silver. The lollipops (huge!) were a special order made in the UK and  you guessed it in lilac and white!
The whole thing was made up of my own ideas and dare I say inspirations, driving my partner mad with random thoughts on what to put on this table!!!  He was of course a great help bouncing ideas around with me, he also covered all the boxes and cleaned all the glass stands ready for the day. (He is a sweetheart).
Cup cakes were covered in ‘butterfly laser cut wrappers’, and mini cakes were the central attraction, I used lots of edible sparkles including ‘edible sparkly hearts’ and colours such as lilac shimmer and hologram white diamond. I think the whole outcome was especially lovely.
It certainly had the wow factor, with many of the wedding guests requesting my card – only to be disappointed to realize I only work on Ibiza!  – Although there were a few who were thinking of marrying in Ibiza  so work will flow……..
The table was put on display at 11pm after dinner and speeches, on the terrace near the disco area so that the guests moved from the dining room out towards the dance floor.  It worked perfectly with so many people enjoying not only a cake but a lovely festive feeling was created with the fun of the huge lollipops being enjoyed by both young and old!
Sweets tables are becoming a big fashion statement and many include ‘coloured macaroons’ and biscuits together with the ‘old fashioned sweets’ many remember from their childhood. It is a lovely way to give the favours to your guests, a small bag is supplied and the guests choose for themselves, it provides a real centrepiece and talking point.
I am looking forward to creating more of these special tables.  For the moment though, I will concentrate on my next wedding cake – to be delivered to lovely venue of The Gecho Beach Club in Formentera.

Atzaro really is a stunning venue, with lush gardens and plenty of space to chill out or party. It certainly had the ‘Wow’ factor, with many of the wedding guests requesting my card, and sadly many were disappointed to realize that I normally only work on Ibiza!  – There were a few who were thinking of marrying on Ibiza, so more work will flow……..

It really is a lovely way to give some very novel ‘favours’ to your guests, a small sweetie bag is supplied and the guests can choose for themselves.   It does provide a real centrepiece and talking point.

I am looking forward to creating more of these special tables, although they do take time to design and prepare.  For the moment though, I am concentrating on my next wedding cake – to be delivered to lovely venue of
