About Ibiza Cakes
Welcome to ibizacakes! I’m IbizaEileen, often called ‘Ibiza’s Queen of Cakes’ by the local and international press.
I’ve lived on Ibiza for well over thirty years, raised my children here, worked here running various up-market clubs and restaurants, then latterly for many years, my own highly successful restaurant in Santa Eulalia.
I hail from Birmingham - the ‘Black Country’ to be specific. My Dad was a precision engineer, and my Mum a talented seamstress. I seem to have inherited their inate artistry and craftsmanship, but in my case for cookery and cake making.
I absolutely love creating the sugarcraft decorations for my cakes, so now in a sort of semi-retirement with Paul my lovely husband, I can indulge and focus on making beautiful wedding and celebration cakes the cake without the distraction of general catering. We are both kept busy with weddings, and our aim to provide the standard of service we would wish for our own childrens’ weddings.
We love the island - in winter for the tranquility of the countryside where we walk, and for the solitude of deserted beaches with their infinite beauty; - in the summer too, when the island transforms within only a few weeks to become the exilarating and exiting ‘Ibiza’ most people see.
I love what I do, and the people it brings me into contact with, - such wonderful couples on the brink of that momentous adventure called marriage - probably the biggest thing that’s happened to them since birth. Seeing the absolute joy and delight when they first see the cake, standing on display during the wedding breakfast for all the guests to admire..... It just brings tears to my eyes!
Rather sadly, the term ‘cooked with love’ has become an overused cliche used to increase sales........ but mine truly are.
